I have a masters degree in Educational Leadership in 2012. I also have a Bachelors of Science in Special Education from Illinois State University in 2010. I have tutored English Language Learners (of all ages) as well as have done tutoring for kids of all ages through my school district (mainly junior high and high school, though). I teach a number of professional developments in my school district, a few being self-regulation and the brain, therapeutic crisis intervention, writing complete and thorough functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans, accommodating the diverse learner.
Experience
As a special education teacher I work with students who struggle academically as well as behaviorally. I know a number of strategies and techniques to aid in helping these children become more successful students. I am patient and have experience working with a number of children with disabilities and/or health conditions. I have passed the general educator content exams and am considered a highly qualified educator for all ages and content areas. I have also taught students of all ages (kindergarten-post secondary). I am also comfortable in teaching English as a second language to kids and adults of all ages. I see tutoring as an extension of something that I presently do and am successful with.
